As a Litigation Executive, I have worked on low value personal injury claims, such as road traffic accidents and accidents at work, but I currently work as part of the Holiday Sickness team.

Why did you choose to practice personal injury law?
I have always been interested in the law. When deciding what to pursue at university, I was originally torn between law and a business-based degree. I decided to do a business degree and after a couple of years, I found that it wasn’t for me. Studying just isn’t the same as getting experience through the practical application of knowledge.
When the apprenticeship became available at Smith Jones, I jumped at the opportunity. There are lots of interesting clients and cases when you work in personal injury law, and I find great motivation in helping them to rebuild their lives after injury.
What do you most enjoy about working at Smith Jones Solicitors?
The best thing about working at Smith Jones is the support network. Colleagues are always willing to help and provide a different perspective on things. The management is really accommodating and always have their door open if you need to chat. This helps to create a relaxed but hard-working environment around the office.
On top of this, Smith Jones invests in its employees, providing them with every opportunity to develop their abilities and add value to their existing skills. Overall, it’s just a great place to work.
What do you like to do outside work?
Having been introduced to the sport at an early age, I frequently enjoy going on local football matches, supporting my home team, Burnley. I also enjoy going to concerts, festivals and seeing other live acts.
I have recently taken up running in my spare time, it’s hard work but I’m determined to continue with it as I have plans to run a 10k someday.
When I get the chance, I like going on holiday, exploring new places and have recently returned from a trip island hopping in Thailand. I plan to go to Dubrovnik at some point in the near future and hope to visit some of the wonderful, scenic sites that can be seen in the HBO series Game of Thrones.
